How Do I Get Started?
Getting a quote
Preliminary Drawing
The first thing to receiving a quote on an existing countertop will require a preliminary drawing with the measurements of your area. You can do this yourself or call our office to schedule a no cost measurement.
Visiting the Showroom
A visit to our showroom is the second step in getting your quote. Once we discuss your color preferences, budget and edge detail we can provide you with a quote right away. We have a good selection of stone samples, edge detail displays, stainless steel sinks and travertine vanity bowls to choose from. Stone and edge detail samples van be checked out to take home with you.
Selecting your Stone
If we don’t have your stone selection in our yard, there are 3 local stone distributors that we work with in Boise. We would be glad to refer you to them and they can help you find the slab of your choice. Taking the time to see these distributors is worth every minute of your time. You will see stones that will just amaze you.
Finalizing the Proposal
Once you have narrowed down your selections, we can provide you with a proposal to review and sign. We request a 40% deposit to get started. If you haven’t already selected the actual slabs that will go into your home, we ask that you select them prior to the template date. At this point we will schedule your dates for demolition if necessary, template and installation.
Before the Installation
The following steps need to be completed prior to getting started on your project:
- All cabinets need to be installed and completely level.
- Appliances need to be in place (if applicable).
- All sinks must be in your home and ready to be installed at the time of template.
- Existing countertop decks need to be removed. We specialize in deck removal and prep. Although we don’t do any plumbing or electrical work, we have qualified contractors that we can refer you to.
- At your scheduled template date our customer service representative can assist you with any technical questions you may have. We will do the demo and template on the same date. In some cases you will need plywood sub-decks applied to your countertops. Placement of seams will be decided at this time based on your layout. We always try to minimize the number of seams whenever possible.
- Please have your faucets onsite at the time of installation so we can drill the holes. Plumbers don’t usually have the tools to drill into granite.
Installation of the Stone
It takes approximately 2 weeks or less after the template date to fabricate the stone. This is mostly dependent on our current work schedule, the complexity of the project, and making final decisions prior to cutting the stone. Our installers will set the stone, drill faucet holes and install the sink basin.
